Professor Alexandr Arsentievich Doudkin

Education:  Graduated from  Vitebsk State  University in 1972 (diploma with  honor).

 Academic  Qualification: candidate of  Sciences degree (an equivalent of  Ph.D.) in CAD (1987), senior researcher (an equivalent  of Assistant Professor) in CAD (1989), Assistant Prof. (2010),  doctor  of  Sciences degree (2011), Professor (2016).

Employment record and duties: PhD student at the Institute of Engineering Cybernetics (IEC), National Academy of Sciences of Belarus (NASB), 1976-1981; junior researcher, researcher, senior researcher at the laboratory of system programming and logic synthesis, IEC, NASB, 1982-1989; senior   researcher at the laboratory of VLSI CAD problems, Brest branch of IEC, NASB 1990-1993; leading   researcher, principal researcher, deputy head of the laboratory of systems identification, United Institute of Informatics Problems (UIIP, former IEC), 1994-2013, head of the  branch   of Computers dept.,  Belarusian  State University of Informatics  and Readioelectronics (BSUIR), 2008-2015,  head of the laboratory,  2015-, full Professor (part-time), Department of Computers, BSUIR.

International activities: chairman of organizing committees of the IAPR Int. Conf. on Pattern recognition and Information Processing (PRIP’99, PRIP’2005, PRIP’2011), Int. Conf.  of Neural Networks and Artificial Intelligence (ICNNAI’01, ICNNAI,03, ICNNAI’08, ICNNAI’12). Member of BAPR and the Byelorussian branch of the an international society of neural networks.

Research interests: digital signal and image processing, pattern recognition, architectures and models of computer vision systems.
