Jury V. Patosin

Поттосин Юрий Васильевич Jury V. Patosin graduated from the radiophysical faculty of Tomsk State University at the end of 1960. From the beginning of 1961 to 1965 he worked at the Siberian Institute of Physics and Technology as an engineer, then as a senior engineer. From 1965 to 1968 he studied in graduate school at the Department of Electronic Computing and Automation of Tomsk State University. From 1968 to 1973 he worked as a senior researcher at the Siberian Institute of Physics and Technology. In 1970 he defended his Ph.D. thesis on the topic "Algorithms for minimizing the number of states of a discrete automaton" and received the degree of candidate of physical and mathematical sciences. Since 1973 Jury V. Patosin has worked at the United Institute of Informatics Problems of the National Academy of Sciences of Belarus as a senior researcher, and then as a leading researcher.

The main scientific interests of Jury V. Patosin lie in the field of logical design of discrete devices, in particular, in the study of problems of decomposition and optimization of finite state machines, parallel machines and combinational logic circuits.

Jury V. Patosin combines scientific work with teaching. He gives lectures to students of the Belarusian State University of Informatics and Radioelectronics and conducts practical classes with them in the course "Discrete Mathematics".
