The draft model law of the CIS countries “On Artificial Intelligence Technologies” is presented at the meeting of the CIS IPA Standing Commission

On March 6, 2025 in the Tavrichesky Palace of St. Petersburg there was held a meeting of the CIS IPA Standing Commission on Science and Education. The meeting was held under the leadership of the Chairman of the Committee on Science, Education and Culture of the Federation Council of the Federal Assembly of the Russian Federation Lilia Gumerova. Parliamentarians from Armenia, Azerbaijan, Belarus, Kazakhstan, Kyrgyzstan, Russia, Tajikistan and Uzbekistan, representatives of scientific and expert communities took part in the work of the commission.

Within the framework of the event, Deputy Director General for Scientific Work of OIPI of the National Academy of Sciences of Belarus Sergei Kasanin presented the draft model law of the CIS countries “On Artificial Intelligence Technologies”.

The parliamentarians approved the draft model law “On Artificial Intelligence Technologies. The document is aimed at adopting a common terminology and principles of AI use in the CIS countries. It will create conditions for the introduction of AI technologies in the economy, industry and everyday life, while ensuring state support and compliance with ethical norms.
