Open Laboratory of Artificial Intelligence and Robotics
«Open Laboratory of Artificial Intelligence and Robotics» It was established as a scientific and educational center of collective use in 2017 on the basis of the IIPI NAS of Belarus and with the support of the Charitable Foundation "Scioia around us".
Purpose
The main goals of the Open Laboratory are to conduct modern research in the field of artificial intelligence and robotics.
Tasks
- Involvement of students, graduates and graduate students in scientific and production projects related to relevant areas of robotics and artificial intelligence
- providing support for the training and diploma projects of students, undergraduates and postgraduates
- organization of visits to the laboratory by schoolchildren and providing them with the opportunity to participate in practical and virtual experiments
- study of the problems of navigation of robotic complexes in the premises (Indoor Planning) and in open area (Otdoor Planning)
- solving the problems of mapping the area (Mapping)
- Robot Interaction Questions within Multi-Agent Systems (Multiagent Systems)
- various application projects related to the development of intelligent systems
The laboratory is studying the problems of navigation of robotic complexes indoors and outdoors, mapping of the terrain, interaction of robots within multi-agent systems, the formation and use of knowledge bases (formalized and informal) and various applied projects related to the development of intelligent systems for automation of service and agriculture.
To conduct scientific research and organize a small experimental site, 6 workstations have been created in the laboratory, equipped with personal computers with monitors, in the use of the laboratory there is a 3D printer and a milling machine intended for office use, a multi-channel oscilloscope, a soldering station, a mounting table with tools, accurate power units and multimeters. An equipped small production area where prototypes and real models of robotic devices can be made.
To test the developed robotic devices, as well as receive feedback from potential users, within the laboratory, open group lectures were organized with the possibility of demonstrations of both own and other available robots for various purposes.
