The topic of projects in medical and bio information technologies

  • Image mining for quantification of gender-related differences and age-related decline of lung tissue as revealed by textural changes of chest radiographs. Building up the normal ageing profiles using large-scale linear regression model with broken-line relationships;
  • Modeling pathological lung changes for discovering early signs of certain pathologies (study groups of e.g., Tuberculosis, Sarcoidosis and some other diseases can be provided);
  • Discovering new ways of estimating human biological age by chest x-ray images;
  • Discovering and visualization of early signs of breast cancer (or any common benign lesion to be identified on a proposal preparation stage);
  • Modeling of spreading the Tuberculosis infections under different scenario of inter-border communication, especially between EECA countries (where the incidence of tuberculosis is relatively high) and EU countries (where it is a rare disease). Quantitative assessment of the role of the fraction of drug resistant cases (4 severity levels), proportion of HIV-infected patients (large fraction of them dying from tuberculosis), various social factors (e.g. international marriages), etc;
  • Modeling the Lung Tuberculosis development in human body based on digital probabilistic anatomical atlas of Human Lung (could be developed in framework of a separate WP based on the large collection of lung computed tomography images we have);
  • Modeling the process of blood vessel growth being stimulated by malignant tumors with point-wise calibration by the experimental data derived from histology images;
  • Development of predictive model of ALS/MND based on ultrasound image sequence analysis for early detection and quantitative assessment of Amyotrophic Lateral Sclerosis (Motor Neurone Disease ) with an emphasis on elderly people suffering from this neurodegenerative diseases;
  • Development and creation of computer analyzer of images for cytological differential diagnosis of thyroid disease;
  • Automatization of diagnostics and prognosis of mediastinal and retroperitoneal children tumors by analysis of radiological images;
  • Сytoskeleton rearrangement in colon cancer and inflammatory bowel diseases;
  • Telemedicine system of digital fluorography for medical images analyzing and teleconsulting;
  • Development of risk estimation technology for ischemic heart disease and essential hypertension based on creating a non-invasive automated diagnostics complex of a microcirculation state;
  • Computer multilevel support of decision making for differential immuno- phenotypic diagnosis of children leukaemia and lymphoma;
  • Computer information-analytical system for post transfusion complications analysis;
  • Quantitative evaluation of neuromuscular disorders on the basis of texture analysis of nuclear magnetic resonance images;
  • Structural characteristics and mutation of AIDS investigation on the basis of computer modeling, chemical synthesis and medical testing;
  • The development of software complex for analysis of radiological images for the decision making support in early diagnosis of lungs cancer;
  • The comparison of proteins tertiary structures as 3D point sets and prediction of their interactions;
  • Computer modeling of the interaction of potential AIDS-1 inhibitor of penetration;
  • Processing and analysis of tomography and Х-ray images for the decision making support in medical application (myology, pulmonology, orthopedics and cardiology);
  • Structural Analysis of the Envelope GP120 V3 Loop For Some HIV-1 Variants;
  • Development of Novel anti-HIV-1 Agents Targeting the Envelope gp120 V3 Loop by Molecular Modeling and Chemical Synthesis;
  • Discovery of novel anti-HIV-1 agents based on a broadly neutralizing antibodies (3074, VRC01, 10E8).
  • Automated decision support system for differential immune marker diagnostics of leukaemia and lymphomas («Dif-L» DSS))
